Crack Injection and Concrete Repair
Concrete is one of the strongest construction materials but that doesn’t mean it won’t give you issues at some point. With your concrete basement being the foundation of your home, there are many reasons your walls may become bowed or cracked.
Many reasons may be out of your control such as deterioration, settling and shrinkage. As time goes by, the soil in which your foundation was poured could sink causing an unleveled surface for the concrete to rest on. As concrete cures shrinkage can occur which can lead to cracks in the walls.
If you live in a cold climate, the moisture in the soil could freeze which will force additional pressure against the walls. This is the most common cause of bowing walls. Shifting soil and tree roots may also create pressure leading to bows and cracks.
Crack injection is the most common method used to repair foundation cracks in poured concrete foundations and structures and provides waterproofing to the structure. A foundation crack is filled entirely using a pressurized injection of epoxy or polyurethane which eliminates the crack and keeps water out.
The injected epoxy creates a bond with the concrete inside the crack, making it as if the crack was never there. The walls will be stronger than they were before. Most concrete cracks can be repaired using crack injection, however, cracks caused by foundation sinking may need additional supports to fix the issue.
Crack Injection is an effective and affordable way to repair foundation leaks. Call us today for a fast estimate!
